About Lance

Lance is a native of the Harrah/Newalla area. He graduated from Harrah High School, won a full academic scholarship to Oklahoma State and went on to Vanderbilt Law School, one of the country's best.
After graduation he worked as a corporate lawyer at two of the country's largest law firms. Always active in his church and community, Lance also used his law degree to advance conservative causes and religious liberties.
In one notable case, Lance successfully represented a pastor who was criminally prosecuted for allegedly violating a noice ordinance for playing his church bells.
The case received significant publicity, including articles in the Washington Post and Wall Street Journal and an interview with CBS Evening News.
Lance now has a law practice in Harrah, where he focuses primarily on estate planning.
Immediately prior to being elected, Lance worked as an Adjunct Professor of Economics at Rose State College.
In 2000, Lance was elected as the state representative for House District 96, defeating a 12-year incumbent with nearly 55 percent of the vote.
Since his first term in the Oklahoma House of Represenatives, Lance has fought to reduce the tax burden on working families, protect religious freedoms, improve the state's system of education, reform government and develop the state's economy.
Lance credits his parents, Bill and Sharon Cargill, with instilling him with strong, traditional values and inspriring him to dream big.
His appreciation for family led him back to Harrah, where he now lives just down the road from his boyhood home. He and his wife, Amber, are the proud parents of two sons, who are now the fifth generation of Lance's family to reside in eastern Oklahoma County.
